Following traditional viticulture, various varieties can be found in certain microplots using intercropping: a blend of red grapes, primarily Tempranillo, with white ones, all Albillo Mayor.
The heritage received reflects a way of understanding viticulture that fundamentally differs from more modern concepts where long rows of trellises dominate. This traditional bush cultivation compels us to design demanding harvests: a first round for the white grapes and a subsequent one for the reds. This approach ensures the best expression of the grape at the optimal harvest time.
Made with Albillo Mayor grapes fermented in stainless steel. The marked varietal character is complemented by a gentle contribution from the fine lees to add creaminess. The barrel aging transforms it into a modern, complex wine. Visually, it is pale yellow. On the nose, white fruits (green apple, lemon pear) and very subtle citrus aromas prevail. The initial taste is distinctly citrus, while also offering a dense and creamy mouthfeel.
The white spirit of the Ribera del Duero
In every glass of Valdecamellas Albillo, there is a whisper of the past, a living heritage that honors the purest essence of Ribera del Duero. This white wine, born from vineyards cultivated with the love and patience that only time can provide, is a tribute to the deep roots of traditional viticulture, where the coexistence of varieties and the manual harvest make all the difference.
It is a white that exudes elegance and uniqueness, a reflection of a generous land and hands that respect the land’s nature. Its varietal character, shaped by calcareous soils and an extreme continental climate, finds balance between freshness and complexity. The Albillo Mayor, with its delicacy and contained strength, transforms into a unique sensory experience, evoking the aromas of white fruits, subtle citrus notes, and a creamy texture that caresses the palate.
Valdecamellas Albillo is not just a wine; it is a liquid poetry that tells stories of tradition, ancient soils, and careful harvests. It is a tribute to the art of creating something extraordinary from the essentials, a wine that invites you to pause, to savor the moment, and to be carried away by its magic.
